The All-Product Recycling Initiative

UNIQLO RECYCLE - Bringing Truly Great Clothing to People in Need the World Over

1.Collect→2.Sort→3.Deliver

The All-Product Recycling Initiative is one activity being implemented by UNIQLO as a part of its CSR commitment. When we first started this initiative in 2006, we thought that we would recycle the donated clothing as material for the textile industry. However, most of the items we were receiving from our customers were still very wearable. And so, thinking that we would like to extend their lives as “clothes,” we started to send them to individuals in need of clothing around the world. In line with our CSR vision of “Making the World a Better Place,” we continue to challenge ourselves in seeking ways to make a difference.

Clothes should not be seen as disposable products

At UNIQLO, we do more than simply produce truly great clothing for our customers. It is also our responsibility to follow through by later collecting these products to give them a new purpose. As an apparel brand, we believe that it is our duty to maximize the useful value of clothing, which is why we refer to all of our items as "shareable." Based on this concept, we will continue to deliver clothing to all people in need through our All-Product Recycling Initiative.

UNIQLO’s ultimate goal is to provide clothing that meets the demand of every single person.
Since 2007, UNIQLO, along with its global partners the UNHCR and JOICFP, has delivered clothing items to refugees, evacuees, victims of disaster, expectant and nursing mothers, and others in need around the world. This activity has been very much appreciated by the local populaces as well as the international community.
We will further expand the scope of our effort of delivering one UNIQLO article of clothing for every refugee, with the aim to supply truly great clothing to every single person in need around the world. We will continue donations in ways appropriate to local needs the world over.
There are still many, many people around the world who are in need of clothing. Having as many customers as possible bring in items for recycling helps steadily widen the circle of support we have created for people living in difficult environments. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
